What is the best way to care for my Wazi Shoes?
The beauty of Wazi Shoes is each pair is handmade and built to last. As you wear your Wazis, the leather soles form to your feet and break in for a perfect fit. We recommend you pack your Wazis in their accompanying shoe bag to protect beading when you travel. As with other leather products, they should not get thoroughly wet as they may stretch out. Try to avoid direct sunlight. If your sandals get dirty or soiled we recommend the following:
Dampen a cloth and place a small amount of leather cleaner on it.
Gently rub the cloth over the leather part of the sandals. Wipe away the leather conditioner with a clean damp cloth and dry with a towel.
Place the sandals in indirect sun to dry.

What does Wazi and Safari Njema mean?
Wazi means “open” in Kiswahili as our shoes are open, and our philosophy is “open mind, open heart, open road.” Our byline, “safari njema” means “travel well” in Kiswahili. Wazi Shoes are designed for people who love traveling and each pair includes a beautiful Tanzanian kitenge fabric bag so they can be packed easily into a suitcase.
I’m traveling to Tanzania in a few months. Can I visit Wazi Shoes?
As of now, our workshops are not open to the public. However, stay tuned to our website where we will have a travel article to Tanzania posted on our blog later this year.
